Lauri Markanen in puck drop cermony – for new NHL team first game
Lauri Markanen got to show of some skating skills as the NHL:s newest franchinse played it’s first game. The finnsih forward delievered the puck to Utah Hockey club owners Ryan and Ashley Smith in the the ceremonial drop before the game against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday.
The newly formed Salt Lake City hockey club will share the Delta Center the Jazz and the Finnish NBA star wore a custom Utah jersey, as he skated out with the puck for the ceremony.
Being a Finn, Markanen is obviously no stranger to hockey and skating. And on the stance, checking out the smooth strokes of the Finnisher, was minority owner, of booth the NBA and NHL Utah clubs, the legendary Dwyane Wade. The latest Utah franchise ended up winning the game 5-2, against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Markanen recently signed a five year contract with Jazz worth 238 million dollars. On Thursday night the Jazz will face of against Luka Doncic and the Mavericks in Dallas.
