Markkanen makes it rain agaisnt the Mavericks –Jazz impress
Following a poor shooting effort against the Rockets on Monday, Utah and Lauri Markkanen seemes good to go for the 24-25 season. The Jazz defeated the Mavericks 107-102 in Dallas. On 29 minutes Markkanen dropped 26 points on 9-of-19 shooting, while grabbing seven rebounds. Hitting catch-and-shoot threes, slaming down putback dunks, and though contested by Mavericks shot blockers Gafford and Lively, Markkanen got to the basket with ease.
He link up well with playmaker Collin Sexton through out the game, the duo found each other on some spectacular alley oop dunks.
Aiming for the All Stars
Commin of an All Star year, “The Finnisher” was the center piece of the Jazz offense last season. Being snubbed of another selection, Markanen is now looking to elevate his game.
“You don’t want to be a one time All Star. The goal is always to improve and show new things you have been working on in your game. I’m always trying to take that next step in my development, but it all starts with team success”, he told Sportskeeda.
Klays first non Warrior game
Dallas Mavericks had to do without Luka Doncic, on the other hand Klay Thompson made his preseason debut scoring 10 points in his new team’s 107-102 loss to the Utah Jazz.Thompson was 3-for-5 on 3-pointers, 3-of-9 overall from the field, in 18 minutes. Thompson played 11 seasons with the Warriors, not counting the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons that he missed with injuries, and helped Golden State win four NBA championships.
Jazz star had to be helped of the floor
Up next for the Jazz will the new Wembanyama and Paul-led Spurs. Unfortunatly Jazz will have to do with out one of its best players. Keyonte George suffered a mild knee injury while slipping on the floor, trying to bring the ball up. The young guard had to be helped off the court by the Jazz medical staff.
